Panoramic view of John Rock
The most beautiful view I know is the view from John Rock.
John Rock is located in the Pisgah National Forrest. I’ll have to admit you do have to work for the view. The hike is about 6 miles round-trip, and moderately difficult. There are parts of the hike where you are leisurely trail walking, and there are parts where your thinking “Seriously, the veiw can’t be that good.” But as you can see, the view is that good.

There is a feeling of accomplishment when you reach the top of the mountain. You get the feeling that all your problems are a bit smaller, and that even struggling can become something beautiful.
Don’t take my word for it. There are so many wonderful locations to hike around the Asheville area.
